Unhappy Sunroof Stuck 2000 Blazer

Greetings,

The sunroof on my wife's 2000 Blazer LS is stuck open. I hear the switch activate the motor. When the switch is depressed backward I can see the roof go back a little then the motor makes a clicking sound - like a clutch enabled on a good quality cordless drill. At that time I can depress the switch forward and the sunroof goes maybe 1/2 an inch and stops. Nothing else happens.

Looks like the motor is in the front between the roof and the headliner in the center by the switches.

I did searches on sunroof and didn't find anything here.

Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone send me in the right direction. Is there anyway to manually get it closed so we can drive the truck w/o fear of rain....until we get $$ to go to the dealer? Will Chilton's have a clue?

Much thanks in advance.

We had the same problem with our '99.
No other way to close sunroof except for pulling on it and I don't recommend this.
What happen to our was the wiring became crimped causing it not to close dealer fix under warranty

Had the same thing hapen but it turned out something had fallen on the track when the sunroof was open(an acorn)and was jamming the track.Get a flashlight and look on both sides while sticking your head out the hole and you might see something jammed in there
