If you're looking to buy/lease yourself a new car, do yourself a favor and don't get a VW. I leased a Cabrio for three years and it was seriously HELL!!! If you feel the need to go against the advice of myself and many other dissatisfied VW customers, make sure you read your lease agreement. I was so psyhed the get the car i just signed. Now i got a bill in the mail for $250 for a turn-in fee!!! What kind of crap is that?? Had i read the lease correctly i would've said NO WAY!! Why should i pay them to take the piece of crap back??? I put so much $ into that car, it's a joke.

Not really a "real car lover". I use cars to get me from point A to point B. I will never lease again, i've learned a valuable lesson. Right now i am driving my fathers Ford Taurus, and i will till it dies.
P.S. - the girl that sits next to me has a VW Beetle....broke down for the 5th time in 3 months again this morning. VW can't fix the "electical problem" and will not give her a loaner. They are just pieces of JUNK!!!

Oh yeah! a Ford Taurus, there's a good car. :eek7: If you care to look around, there are a lot of dealers of many makes of cars doing dealer scams.

I have a VW for about 2 years (posted below, VW Parati Turbo) and I never had any sort of mechanical or electrical problem with it. In fact here VW's are known for their great reliability, they won't let you down like other more famous brands sometimes will.....

Now about the leasing, well... sellers will try anything, this is not a VW only thing... just don't lease a car again.

VW's have lost their level of quality when the Jetta III and Golf III came out from Mexico. Quality in both manufacturing and engineering. I had a 95 Jetta III GL. That car was a lemon and I ended up selling it with so much money lost from spending into repairs and so much lost from the sale. Now, it's more a gamble, some VWs hardly have problems and others are lemons.

I had an 89 Golf GL which hardly needed any repairs and went a long way. I also had an 80 Rabbit (gas engine). That was a junker but it ran strong and didn't break down for the short time I owned it.

As for your lease, that's your fault that you didn't read the fine print. I can't say it's scrupulous of the salesperson not to mention all fees involved in a lease. They are out to get as much money from a sale or lease as possible.

I wouldn't get a VW again unless I was looking for an old Golf GTI or mkII Golf GL. I don't know how the new VW Golf and Jetta IV's are. My sister got one and it has run without any problems.
