f-body question

Has anybody here taken off the insulation on the underside of their hood and if so did affect the paint or AC. Does this actually help to get more air circulation or should I just leave it.

if its a 3rg gen I know you can take off the weatherstrip on the back of the hood(towards the firewall) to let out hot air. It doesnt let in any water(not for me) but not sure on the 4th gen.

Re: f-body question

The fiberglass is their to keep down engine noise, Its not their to keep the engine warm or to keep the paint cool. You can remove it, it looks better without it also.

I concur with the others, removing it does nothing. Did it to a friend of mine's a week and a half ago, and his Z28 ended up taking 1st place in his category at the car show. It wasn't the only reason it won, but it definately helped out his engine bay...
