Angry cd changer install

Just got a 2000 GLS two months ago with the Monsoon system and finally broke down and bought the 6 disc CD changer for it. Problem is the stereo is not recognising the changer. It all snapped in fine and fits the slot perfectly. Is there something I'm missing... help.

Cd Changer Install

I've run into the same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was told you could simply plug it in and go.

Re: cd changer install

I went through this last year with my jetta. You can install the cd changer on your own, but you still need to bring it to the dealership for them to program the receiver. It only takes about 5 minutes for them to do. The hook the receiver up to their computer and tell it that it is a Am/FM/Cassette/cd receiver. They will probably charge you an hour of labor too.
