Question side view mirror

Hi

Recently lost the glass in the driver's side view mirror of a 2003 Malibu LS.

Does any one have an opinion on the best way to handle this?

Can I find glass and just replace or do I have to buy a whole power mirror assembly and have it painted to match and then rip apart the door in order to install it?

I'd rather just replace the glass, but from looking around the net, I can only find complete mirror assemblies.

And auto body shops don't want to paint primed parts for me. And the ones that do want to charge more than the mirror costs.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Ken
