lost keys

i have lost my keys to a passat cl wagon, 1989. does anyone know if it is possible to order new ones from vw or another company? i don't feel like changing all the key barrels.......

call the dealership and give them ur VIN # and they should be able to cut u a set from that

i tried that, calling the dealer but i forgot to mention i live in france. the land of unhelpful fuckers!!! they said it wasn't possible to do that, so i went and got another ignition assembley...... the thing is you need the key to release the steering lock.......... which i don't have. a fact i overlooked when i bought this one. i do have the key for the new one.

do you have any ideas on how to get this off? i have a drill and angle grinder and probably any tools i think i'll need.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!
