Finding out about readline...AciDriveHB 08-27-2003, 10:47 PM Hey, Sorry if this is a repeat of someone's thread, but I could not find a single post on anything to do with "red line" or "redline" on the AF. My question about redline is this, what is the exact redline of a 1994 Honda Civic Ex? I know it sounds like a stupid question to ask, but it's harder to find than what I thought. I'm a newbie at all of this (if you can't tell by my profile), and am just getting into all the aftermarket works with cars. I also just bought a 1994 Honda Civic Ex that has been modified a bit, and one of the things that were changed was the gauges on the car. So I don't want to exactly trust what my aftermarket gauges say right now, that's why I ask here. Hope I haven't pissed anyone off with "too easy" of a question. Thanks, ~AciD PS. Please take it easy on me, this is my first post :icon16: Bambooseven 08-27-2003, 10:54 PM stock rev limiter is set at 7200rpm beyond that it really wouldn't matter much unless you got rid of said rev limiter AciDriveHB 08-27-2003, 11:10 PM Thanks for the note. But just to make sure, is the Rev limiter where redline starts? And the only way to get rid of the limiter would be to get an aftermarket ECU? Thanks... ~AciD loesch8102 08-27-2003, 11:12 PM http://www.ebaumsworld.com/forumfun/newbie4.jpg Just kidding. Welcome to the forums. This brings up a good question though. How easy is it to mess up when installing aftermarket gauges and end up having them calibrated incorrectly? TyTy8383 08-27-2003, 11:17 PM You get your max HP at 6600 rpm. You really don't need to rev up much more than that if you don't know what your Redline is. AciDriveHB 08-27-2003, 11:19 PM Thanks TyTy8383 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=87525) I know that already. It's not the point of reving up to blow up my engine or to look cool, it's just simply a fact that I and a friend brought up in conversation one day, and I thought I would ask the forum. ~AciD sageuvagony 08-28-2003, 12:19 AM I have a 1992 Civic LX. Whats the limit on that one? D15B7 I think... where would it bounce? and what do you think the safest highest RPM's for that engine? I wanna increase the rpms up a lil... love the sound. but getting it to rev like those b16c's is impossible right? damage? Thanks all jcrx 08-28-2003, 01:49 AM 10,000rpms..no ok. Rage of Xenin 08-28-2003, 06:13 AM 10,000rpms..no ok. what the hell do you think this is? Initial D? anyway, i would think you'd need some engine modifications to get that.
