i'm not sure what is wrong with your car, but i'm 100% sure that person that installed your amplifier did some wrong. most like he cut some wire that was not supposed to cut or spliced to some wire that was not supposed to spliced to.

if you're gonna take your car to dealer, dealer will blame problem on amplifier installer, and will not fix problem under warranty.

i would talked to installer and tell him to fix problem otherwise you will take car to Honda but he be responsible for bill.

:iagree: or it could be an unrelated problem. When I worked at Honda it wasn't uncommon for new CRV's with 20 miles come in with Check engine light on or 100 miles on V6 accords/ody with tranny issues. Cars are machines with too much electronics, 10miles or 1million miles they all break.

If you knew the code that would be of great help. When the installer "tried" to fix it didnt he pull the codes?

If you have a check engine light, get your hands on an OBDII scan tool and plug it into the cars diagnostic port under the dash, with the car off.

Read your code and post back.
Most autoparts stores will do this for free.

Maybe this is to simple of an approach, but my check engine light comes on when the milage reaches "suggested" maintenance miles. It'll come on and then go off and the progressively stay on the closer I get to those mile markers. The manual has a way to turn it off when it does that - perhaps this is something that your car is doing as well and it being mistook for faulty wiring?

YogsVR4 are you sure your not thinking about the Maintenance Required light which will "come on and then go off and the progressively stay on the closer I get to those mile markers" To reset : (ignition off)press & hold the select/reset button(trip reset) - Turn ignition on - wait until light flashes and goes off
