CD changer issues...please help

I have a 1997 jetta and today I drove to work (CD player working fine) but when I drove home, I pressed Mode to select the CD player and it only switched between AM and FM. It's as if it forgot I have a CD player. So I go to the trunk to eject the 6-disk cartridge and that wont come out. There is no "SAFE" warning or anything. Can someone please help me.

Also, my CDs are stuck inside, is there anyway to get them out?

Maybe it's just a blown fuse that the changer is on. Check your fuses. Sounds like the changer is not getting power. I am not at all familiar with the VW radio setups, but I'd check that first.

I'm not familiar w/ Jetta cd changers, but most have a reset button you can push (it will be very small) and it should spit out the magazine
