Radio

I have a 1968 mgb and I was pulling out the radio trying to figure out how to fit a cd player in. The screws on the radio are rather weird, I had to take them out with pliers because their heads were hidden behind a plastic shield on the radio. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to put the screws back in. Is there a way to take the plastic shield off? Thanks. -Ben

I don't have any pictures sorry, I don't have a digital camera here. Yes it is the original factory radio. It has a black plastic shield, or harness that surrounds the screws which really dumbfounds me because I can't figure out how to take the plastic shroud off and I have no idea how they screwed the screws in when they first installed the radio. I ended up using pliers on the thread part of the screw to unscrew them. Any help would be appreciated.
