If ud be kinda 2 provide me advice for Stereo Replacements for an 03 Cavy

Well apparently the new 03 cavy's have some kinda of protection that locks the car if the stereo is removed. ( i dunno why they would do dat cause if a theif stole the radio, its the owners who suffer by not being able 2 start their car :S)

Anyways i just bought my car
LIKE JUST BOUGHT IT, and i want a system in there by the end of the week. THe guys at future shop said they could do it.. but that would mean a complete rewiring or something, new harness, new wires blah blah. They said they want touch any of the stock wiring system thus saving my warranty.

My dealers like oh ya jus come 2 me 2 get watever u need done, ill do it for u and guarantee the work. Im like the guys at futureshop said they could do the install, and hes like no they can't cause got proper wiring harness and shit, and then he tried to scare me with the fact of my having a computer problem if any of the wiring was done wrong..

SO now im so confused, oh ya and he DID NOT GIVE ME A QUOTE for the cost of work at the dealership..

Well ppl i need 2 have some advice on the installation of a deck etc with an 03 cavy or how the security system works and all, i prob might just end up doing it myself.. gone are the days when i ripped apart my 88 cavalier to get that whole thing setup.

Thanks for all help appreciate it.

The best thing would be to get a mounting kit etc etc and do it your self, or let a gm dealer or a person from a different shop thats gm certified.

warranty

what he means by saving his warranty is its a new car so it has a warranty if you mess with the stuff in the your warranty is void like messing with wires doing ANYTHING to the engine unless somethings wrong with it if he does the work himself the warranty is void so he has to take to the dealer or do it himself in order to keep warranty intacked

Cavy's that are new that have door chimes for lights on and things like that also have most of the computer stuff ran thru them like oil pressure and also shifting points for AT. You might want to consider talking to somebody about having it done. They had to relocate my CD player whenever they put my CD player in....Hope that helps.
