Hey guys im new here, but anyway i own a mint as 1984 Mirage mkII turbo completely standard with 70k on the clock. Now, i was wondering if any1 out there knows how easy it is to swap a cordia engine (4G92t i think?) into the mirage. I have heard alot of stories but no one can tell me for sure if it is a direct swap. What about gearboxes? Heard the cordia fwd 'box fits in but with a bit of fabrication for the mounts? Id rather not get rid of it and buy some evo or subaru, they r 2 common here (NZ). anyone care to shed a little light on the subject? any info will help.

as u describe this mirage it should be the first year that they came out that particular style.
Ohhh and also if you swap a cordia engine everithing fits perfect even transmision. the only defrence is that yours is 1.6 and the cordia is 1.8

the best challenge for u would be to swap a eclipse or talon turbo engine in there then you will know what that baby can do.
please reply to my email. Jrodriguez_151@hotmail.com

I know personally because i had to 1988 mirage turbos a starion, talon and eclipse so i have a little knoledge on a lot of simple but nice tricks.

I coulda swore the Cordia had a bigger block & tranny. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought about doing that conversion years ago when I had a 84 turbo colt. I even came across a few cordia's and compared engines.
