Unhappy speakers

Just wondering if any of you know why my stock speakers suck so bad? I want to buy new ones, and my stereo is 50wattsX4, so what would be a "good" speaker watt "size" to get? Sorry, I'm a girl and just need some touching up to do here...also, how do I minimmize the vibrations you can hear form the outside when I crank it up all the time? Thanks again!

There are thousands of ways to go.
If you plan to have the speakers installed, and can afford it, look into getting a pair of component speakers with 6 3/4" woofers. Then you can ad an amp to power them whenever time permits.

What are component speakers? And what are a good brand to get? Do YOU have a Jetta?

Re: speakers

I own a 2001 Jetta GLX with the Monsoon system.
I am in the process of upgrading the entire system because it's not quite as loud and vibrant as I would like.
I bought a pair of Diamond component speakers yesterday, but it will be weeks before I have time to install them.
Component speakers are the ones that have tweeters separated from the woofers... in more simple terms, there's a little speaker for high notes, and a separate bigger speaker for the bass and vocals.
The advantage is that the separates sound a little clearer, but there are a lot of regular speakers that will do the trick for much less.

I have a 2000 GLX

I recently installed a new deck, i was having problems with the clarity of all my speakers so i took it to my friends dad's audio shop. If you have the monsoon system you need to do a amp bypass on the stock monsoon 200watt amp. if not you could be overpowering the stock speakers. The deck it's self will power the speakers and acts as a amp. You said that the speakers were 6 3/4's are u sure that they weren't 6 1/2 's? I also added 2 12's and a 1200 watt amp.

Re: speakers

I have a 95 jetta and it has 6.5's all around with 4 tweeters. I went with the Sony XPlod 200Watt component speakers and two MDX Comp. subs. The sonys are a good choice but I think phillips has abetter speaker out. I'm not sure. Just some suggestions.
