Post 1996 4-Runner Brake Problems HELP

My 4-Runner's Front Brakes Locked up the other day. They locked up so tight that, it would not move even when I tried to give it gas. The only thing I knew to do was to release the Brake Fluid Valve on the Brake Caliper, once I did that Fluid shot everywhere and the Brake Pressure Released. I thought I had fixed the problem, but after driving my car a few miles and hitting the brakes about 15-20 more times, the same thing happened again. So now my 4-Runner has been sitting in the same spot for over a week now. All my friend have tried to help but, they were unsuccessful aswell.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS FOR ME, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

or just reply

THANKS.

Re: 1996 4-Runner Brake Problems HELP

I had a similar problem on a different vehicle - the calipers would not release, thought it was the caliper that needed replaced. As it turned out it was the flexible brake lines - you can not see it, but when they get old the colapse inside - it lets the brake fluid go to the caliper, but not back to the master cyclinder. Replaced the hose and worked great.
