How do you guys like the new look of the forums? I think it looks pretty good I like the smilies on the side for sure :thumbsup:

Well, Im kinda torn, I like how it looks and all, but at the same time, I was so used to the way it was that it's just kinda weird. I know I'll get used to it, but it may take me a while.

This shade of blue makes me blind! :frown:

I dont care too much, AF is the god of all car forums so it's cool no matter what, but I kinda liked the old one, but I suppose in a week when I'm used to it I'll think that it's better.

the other forum was simpiler ... this shits all bulky and busy ... i like how the smilies rotate though.

The more I use it the more it reminds me of the forums at dvdfile.com, and I hate those forums with an all consuming passion.
In short, the more I use it - the more I notice the glaring flaws and hate it.
I liked the darker blue, I liked how you didn't automatically quote the previous post when replying in a thread, I liked how the smilies list was more compact, I liked having my avatar.
With my first post after the remodeling I was thinking "hey this isn't so bad, it's just like a new pair of underpants that you have to break-in to get used to" Now I'm thinking: "Man, the old forums rocked!"

I like the new features, but I don't like the new look, and it doesn't work well on anything smaller than 1024*768 resolution.

Overall I like the colors and styel of it. However, I don't like how the posts count are at the bottom of each section. Unlike CamaroSS, the new page seems to load a lot quicker. I think a really bad ass idea, although I'm not sure if its possible or how difficult, would be to allow the users to customize the colors of their choice for the background, etc. I still like the old site better, b/c it seemed a little easier to use(but I was use to it though). And why aren't the avatars up?

I do like the Add to Reputation feature though
And I like that you can attach other typed of files besides jpeg and gif now.
Also there are more colors to choose from

Overall, gotta give a thumbs down on the new look until I get used to it. I guess this is sorta like when a car maker remodels a car and makes it more functional but uglier *cough*Honda Accord*cough* *cough* Civic *cough*

You just gotta wait til the next redesign and hope it gets better.

I liked the old one better , I hated that colour but this one is doing my head in, I suffer from Migranes (sp) alot and this is too bright.

Everytime something new comes along no one will like it at first...people resist change :banghead:

I voted that I didn't like it so much, but I've also noticed that this is a Beta version of 3.0.0 so it is possible it could change.
:thumbsup: to igor and the other AF peeps for keeping the downtime short, and I am sure we will get used to the new look :cheers:

I don't think I'm liking it that much.

It's got some decent new features, which I really like, but there's a few things I really don't like:

No avatars... what're ya nuts?! I can't be posting without my monkey.
No text colors on things like the thread titles of "sticky" threads.
The PM in-box is set up really weird with the "receipts" at the top, and the messages at the bottom...

I dunno... there's more, but I'll have to use it before I pass judgement...

So, is the no avatar thing just temporary, like hopefully they're just working out some bugs or something?

well in the af news section Igor said that he will change a bunch of stuff....so hopefully it will end up looking more like the Af we used to know

Did Igor change the light blue background? It's more purple-ish now (similar to old one) and easier on the eyes. The initial blue colour was truly blinding.

How does this reputation thing work anyway? I understand that you can put it on somebody's record that they're an A hole, but what next???

I think after getting X number of bad reps from different members, you should be suspended or banned. I guess that could cause problems if some jaskass decided to create a million different screen names just to get somebody banned, but everything has a downside. :wink:

But I wish the character limit didn't include the characters used in pic insertion or vB code. Especially the vb cuz that doesn't take up space, it only alters the appearance of words already present.

It's gonna take a little to get used to, but I like it.

i don't particularly care for the flip-flopping of colors from reply to reply, and i liked it better when the list of users in this forum was on top instead of on the bottom of the page.

Whoa, the power goes out for a few days and now the forums get a makeover? Wierd. My opinion on this new style is liek that of most on here, there's some + and -'s. Overall thoguh I liek the new display o it except for the sig thing and the lack of avatars, I'm nothing without my avatar!

Hopefully these are just temporary things that will be easily fixed over time so we can get back to normal. :2cents: <- This is new

In saying that imagine if only one person had it in for you and he/she went to every post you've done and gave you bad rep points. It is the same and a good person could be "banned" because as you said one person had it in for you. Igor hasn't explained what the rep points are for but I am sure down the road we will think of way to use them. :naughty:
