I've got a '95 Neon Highline, SOHC, manual, with 140k+. She died on me on the way to work. Check engine light tells me that it is code 54: No camshaft position sensor signal from distributor. Problem with distributor syncronization circuit. I replace the cam position sensor and that didn't help, still get the code and she will not start. I don't want to take her in cause I don't want to get ripped off. What could I do?

Ok, today I bought a new ignition coil, thinking that may be the problem, but it wasn't. I refuse to take it to the dealership, but I think that's what I may have to resort to. If anyone has any helpful ideas, please let me know.

u need to reset the ecu!! I think with chrysler all you have to do is take off the battery for 10 min. You might need to do the ign on off thing to to reset it, I'm not sure. find out from some one besides a dealership, they'll tell you that only they can do it and charge you $50 to do something you can do yourself in 10 min!
