Just wanted to tell everyone that its snowing like crazy here, and I couldn't be happier :D
Went out for a cruse in my car and man its slippery. whereever ppl have been driving theres strips of ice, and its hard to get stopped (thank god I fixed my ABS) or going at stopsigns and lights. Deserted parking lots and quiet streets are fun tho :D
I cant wait to get my snomobile out, and maybe do a little x-country skiing :D
Most ppl here are pissed about the snow, but it made my day. Local weather reports say 5-7cm tonight then more tomorrow :D
I went to a parking lot behind an old warehouse thats closed, and i did donuts for like 2min until i was dizzy :D too much fun, driving all sideways n stuff. Its friggin crazy :smoka:

I could count the times I've seen snow on two hands.
I could count the times I've seen it snowing on one hand, without using the fingers.

Ya ill probably end up slamming my car into a pole and dying, but ya it will all have been worth it :D
Now the question is, if I really want to live through this winter (both me and my car) I need to cancel my other plans to buy stuff, and get some decent rubber. My tires are like slicks, if I try to drive good I still slide around, it makes me look like an ass even more than usuial

The city would have to shut down before they would close the college. In public school and highschool id say we used to get around 3-4 snowdays a yr. So my sis sits at home while i brave the crazy drivers, getting my car stuck in huge drifts and all to find out that the prof decided not to come in that day without notifying anyone

You have snow already!!!! It was pretty warm here today, like 10*C today (warm for this time of year) plus there was like no wind chill.
that's like 50*F for U.S. people
temperatures change so much here... in the winter it can get to like 0* and in the summer it's often around 100*
weird :D

And let me guess....you had to shovel it, Heep? Honestly, I know what its like
Last fall bought a snowblower that had a "busted" engine. The V-belt was snapped and the carb needed a rebuild. [The guy was a moron, and I kinda felt like I took advantage] So for less than $200 total, I got a pretty new snowblower that works great :D

well, this winter is supposed to be warm, that means tooooooooooooooons of snow. But i want a cold, bitter winter with lots of snow. This weekend im going camping up in the Berkshire mountains! Yay, its gonna be fun.
plus, my pathfinder likes to gobble up snow, probably the only thing its good at when i pop it into 4x4 mode.

Update: We only got about 5cm (about 2in) last night. We still have a snowfall warning and they are predicting atleast 15cm (about 6in) more by tomorrow morning.
It was crazy trying to get myself to school here this morning. Theres a few accidents, and there are people skidding and sliding out of control everywhere.
It takes everyone about a week to adjust to winter driving, and until then its scary to drive. :uhoh: I'm not scared of myself crashing, cause I can control and correct my slides, and my ABS helps me stop, but its all the ppl who drive the same speed as if it were a summer day. Also, all the kids who just got there license arent used to winter driving and they are a hazard too.
My tires are so bald its sick. Note to self, no more burnouts in summer :(
I told my family "For christmas, everyone chip in together and get me just 1 gift. I want 2 or 4 new tires, which ever you can afford"
My dad gave me the :bloated: look

We had our 1st snow here already, but I dont consider it to be the 1st, since I didnt see it. It only lasted ~2 minutes, and it was mostly hail. I cant wait for the snow to come, too bad it comes in mid to late December :(

It snows around here about one week out of the year. :p But, it does snow about six inches, and gives us enough to get out and have a great snowball fight. Of course last year, I lost miserably if I do recall that correctly. But, I need to go up to Mount Hood sometime and make a snowman. I've never done that yet, and I think it's about time. Maybe I'll try sledding too! :)

There is only one mountain in the North Island that has snow on it, but that is only for a short time. Most go to the South Island where snow is high on the mountain tops for nearly 6 months of the year.

I live on the East coast of the south island (like most people who live int eh south island) Dunedin is pretty famous in NZ for its terrible weather but thats not really the case, normally it snows about one day a year here and its gone by 10 in the morning.
ABout 3 hours inland from here theres alot of moutains which there are several skifields on. The advantage of NZ ski fields to Americans is that theyre in their prime when American ones arnt open, thats why Americans come here for them (as well as all the extreme sports that are close to the ski fields)
