C1500 biggest tire size without a lift kit

I want to get new tires and rims. I want to get the biggest i can get. Someone told me that i would be able to run 31 9.50R15 with out cutting anything. Is this true? I dont want to purchase them and then be up a creek when they dont fit.

You guys can always check on tirerack.com, or if you go to your local tire store, they can usually tell you.

I've got 285.75.16 Cooper A/T on my 99 Z with no problems whatsoever. I do run the stock wheels, but several of my buddies have 16x10's with the same size tire and no probs either.

265.75.R16 should fit 2wd, 285.75.R16 should fit a 4X4 although it is possible that one might need to adjust the front torsion bars slightly. The front is the main place you have to worry about fit.

Re: C1500 biggest tire size without a lift kit

THANKS for all your tips guys. Just put 265 75 R16 Dueler Revo's on my 2000 GMC Sierra 2wd reg cab and they fit perfect. the guys at tire pro's said they are the biggest that will go on. And the Dueler Revo's are unbelievable. they are what all the guys at the shop had just put on their suv's and trucks. the tire looks great, pretty darn meaty without being a mud tire. best part is though, they don't hardly make any noise and they have a smooth ride. They are ranked 1 out of 25 all terrain tires on TireRack.com and I think they are right on. Though some of you guys might want to know about a new tire that is great. also tinted the windows, complete package. just need to pick out some new headers........................................... .................................................. ..

I've got a 1989 C1500 ext. cab and put 31x10.5 tires all the way around it without lifting it. Now I want to find some 15x9 or 16x9 wheels and put 295/50 all the way around. My truck just dont sit high enough for larger tires to look good, it would look much better with a "sporty" tire.

Re: C1500 biggest tire size without a lift kit

I own a 94 gmc sierra and it's just a stock 4x4 and i have 275/65/r16's on it and it works perfectly. im going to move up to 285's and that should be just as good, id say go with around 275 or 285, depending on how meaty the tires really are, if you get a nice set of bf goodrich's then you should go with 285 because they arn't really meaty, now if u go with super swampers or possibly mickey tompsons then you will have to prob run a smaller size then 275 or so...

Hopfully this helps.
