spark-helprobert barnhill 11-24-2001, 07:00 AM -1986-ford-mustang-3.3 liter-4 cyl.-problem--spark not coming out of dist.--volts in and out of coil-but goes into distri cap, ok, new cap and roter- is their a fuse or a spark control on this dist. of a 1986 ford mustang, if so is it the part squared below the cap and has a plugg in of about 6 wires, what might my problem be- car died won't start-just spinns. no fire to pluggs:devil: :devil: SkylineUSA 11-24-2001, 08:12 AM Sounds like your points are out of adjustment. Have you looked at that yet? MOJO 11-30-2001, 02:52 AM Its called a stator. (that thing that has wires going to it in the distributor) :D Could very well be your problem. The only way to be sure is to hook up an ignition system tester and see if you are missing either a pip signal or a tach signal. Regardless of which one you are missing, the common thing to do is to replace both the ignition module and the stator. (If the stator is black, it is most likely the cause of you problem. 1986 was a bad year for stators in all ford vehicles.
