No fuel to carb.t359 07-27-2003, 12:14 PM Can't get fuel up into carb and therefore, engine won't run. Replaced fuel pump, but no help. Where else should I be looking? All started when I was charging AC. Engine stalled out and hasn't run since. All fuses and fusible links are good. Tank gauge sending unit indicating 3/4 full. Scratchin' my head. Thanks! 2strokebloke 07-27-2003, 01:27 PM How long has it been since you replaced the fuel filter? t359 07-27-2003, 02:42 PM Fuel filter is fine. There's no fuel making it up the piping from the fuel pump. Fuel pump is brand new. jeffescortlx 07-27-2003, 09:00 PM Does the fuel pump run? Can you hear it humm? ales 07-28-2003, 05:26 AM I'd do a little troubleshooting. First find out if the fuel is coming out of the fuel pump, then find out if it reaches the filter, then find out if it comes out of the filter. All by removing the respective hose from the fitting. And then replace the faulty part or fuel pipe/hose. t359 07-28-2003, 06:24 AM It's a mechanical fuel pump. Do I have to 'prime' this before it would draw from the tank(s)? Thought about injecting a bit of gas into the fuel inlet hose and trying it again. Thanks. ivymike1031 07-28-2003, 11:28 AM Is your cam turning? t359 07-28-2003, 11:33 AM As near as I can tell, the cam is turning. Strange, that the engine wold die when I turned the AC selector to the MAX, position. This has me stumped right now. Thanks. jeffescortlx 07-28-2003, 01:31 PM Check for spark. Than spray a little starter fuild down the carb to see if it fires. Than you can go from there. t359 07-29-2003, 03:44 PM I have two tanks on this truck. I went uderneath to the switching valve and switched 2 fuels lines from left tank and put them where the right tank lines were, on the valve...and vice versa. It started! So I figured maybe a blockage in the line between the switching valve and one tank or in the tank itself. I blew compressed air through all four lines, into the tank. Replaced lines, started it and switched back and forth between tanks and it kept running. So perhaps there's something in there? Now, I just need to put new fuel line on and return the feeders to their original valve positions. Hope that's the end of this adventure! Thanks for all the help and suggetions!
