well if you want a good strong motor with gobs of torque and amazing capability. with more creature comforts, bigger brakes, and a higher top speed. than id go with the mk3.

how ever the 50/50 weight dist. of the rx7 is the only thing going for it. the rotories arent known for torque of any kind. you basically have to rev the hell out of it to make any real power. plus have you ever sat in a rx7? not exactly the most comfortable. the toyota supra has had 1200+hp on the stock internals. when was the last time you heard an rx7 doing that? also a joke up here in st louis between supra and rx7 owners is: before you start it make sure the change engine light hasnt come on.:iceslolan

if you get a mkiv with less than a grand you are in the 12's. in a mk3 for less than a grand you are in the 13's.

i had an RX7 Turbo (88) the most fun car ive ever driven for about a month then it just seems slow. but does handle great and has adequate power for daily driving. was awsome for autocross. ive never driven an mkIII supra but i have been in an MKII with a 7MGTE. very very fun. gobs of power in all gears. if your cruising at 70 in 4th and floor it it will still lean you back in your seat. the engine would chirp gears up to 4th if you are shifting at about 6grand. handling wasnt as good as my RX7 but was more impressive. if you are just now getting into building cars go with the supra its simpler and raw. the RX7 is very difficult to understand compared to the supra.
