how would i install a supertach

i have no idea of how to hook one up. i have a 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel.

just plug it to the negative pole of the.... (here is my damn spanish again ) that thing that converts low volt to high and sends it to the spark plug cables, that one!!! that is all you need to do.

There are no spark plug cables on a diesel. You will not have a coil to connect to. Since it is a diesel you would have to install a pickup on the flywheel or the crank pulley to make a tach work.

get a tach that is made for a diesel engine. you will need to locate the "W" terminal on the back of the alterantor for the tachometer signal. after instalation you will probably have to calibrate the tach. contact a vw shop for further instructions on calibration.
