You can't simply remove it, as it is programed into the CPU that controls everything in your car. You have to get your computer reprogrammed or buy a new performace one.

Reprogram Chip?

I don't realy want to spend $500 to $600 on a new racing chip, how would i reprogram a governor chip? What equipment would i need where would i get it and also what shops would do it for me if any. Im driving a 1997 Ford Thunderbird Customized Big time.
