The SR20DET is a long block inline. It makes plenty of space longitudinally for the VG30DE/DETT.

I don't know where you get that the VG30 being a "dual throttle body" makes it any slower. Do you mean that it has two banks of cylinders? Because RB26DETT has SIX throttle bodies. Not only that, but engine format doesn't mean much since some of the fastest 6-cylinder cars in the world have two banks of cylinders, such as a horizontally opposed Porsche motor.

Are you serious?! It's called ram air induction, and it works well for naturally aspirated motors. As for forced induction, the location of the intake manifold makes no matter, since the blower/turbo's plumbing will find its way in.
There is one good benefit for using the VG30 for the 240SX: Widespread availability and common shop knowledge. Oh yeah, by the way its legal.
One drawback may be the necessity of a custom cradle or fabricated engine mounts for the VG. ECU linking or trading shouldn't be all that difficult with the high compatibility between Nissans.
