Changing Oil Pump

I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport withe the 4L engine. I am changing to a high-flow oil pump, but I'm concerned about running into problems dropping the oil pan. For instance, is the exhaust system in the way? Do any parts need to be secured from movement during the work? Just not too sure of the internal layout of the pan and its surroundings.
