I want to get wheels for my 2003 Alero. I thought 18 would be the biggest i could get, but then i saw a pic of someone with 19's. Does anyone know if 19's are possible without any tire well mods? Thanks.

Yes, 19's will fit, but you will need to make sure the offset is correct. You will also need to run very small tires. I would advise against 19's, though. More strain on the engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension. 18's look plenty big. :)

I have a 2000 Alero GLS with a set of 215/35/19s. So, yes 19s will fit. I haven't had problems with acceleration or braking. If you purchase a rim that is within 10-15lbs of the factory rim weight, you should be okay (depending upon your driving conditions). My car stops on a dime: had to put it to the test involuntarily when a vehicle jumped in front of me when I was doing 86mph, and again (not the same day) when going home and a kid jetted out into the street.

The largest rim you can put on it is a 245/35/20. The only modification that you would have to do is to roll the rear fender well in with a bat (the wheel guys/gals should know how to do it). However, you'll only have to do it if you have excessive weight in the rear. Otherwise, a 20" rim with a 245/35 will fit just fine on the front and rear.

When mine arrive, send me your email address, and I'll send you a picture. I can send you one now of it with the 19s on it if you want. Just send me an email address.

I would never get wheels that are heavier then the stock ones. If you want any kind of performance gain go with lighter wheels.
