20020Infiniti QX4 Sludge Problem

I am currently without my 2002 QX4. I am being told the engine needs to be replaced. The are claiming that sludge is the reason, and lack of oil change is the cause. I have changed my oil 4 times in 14 months, but this does not seem to matter. Is anyone else with an Infiniti QX4 experiences a sludge problem?

The problem is that when I start the car, it pour out a white smoke from the exaust this sometime engulfs the car with smoke. The smoke goes away, after a few minutes or seconds if I drive immediatly. It only smokes at start-up , and only if it is cold.

Please help!!! They are rejecting warrantee, and want me to pay a $7,000.00 bill

Thanks Tom

How many miles have you put on in that 14 months? You need to change at least every 3,700 miles per warrantee. White smoke usually indicates a water leak into the cylinder. Blue smoke indicates an oil leak which usually means bad rings on pistons, which means the engine is toast.

Ask service for the number of the regional manager. If that gets you no where call the factory Consumer Affairs at (800)662-6200.
You can go to places that specialize in engine rebuilding.
