V-TECH Questions

Is a D16Z6 engine a v-tech or not. I've been told different things lately and figured that this is the best place to ask.

NO!!!!!!!!!! IT SHOULD SAY VTEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! but not all VTEC engines say VTEC

:uhoh: :sorry: my bad. the block says d16z6 but the valve cover just says honda motor co., not vtec

most of the sohc dont have valve covers that have the vtec badge on it...its pretty much just the b series and h and k series if im not mistaken..i think the old d series had just vtec on them..anyone?

yea urs is a VTEC.... but... This is just a weird question to you all.. Who in the hell invented the word abriviations of VTEC? Wouldn't

My 95 D16Z6 said VTEC on it. Maybe V-TECH.........:lol:

I have a 92 D16Z6, doesn't say VTEC on it.. you'd be amazed at how many people think that since it doesn't say it, it must not have it.

d16z6 is vtec, the valve cover doesnt say vtec if you have a 92-93 after that in 94 they started putting vtev on the cover

the last statement isnt really true cause i just bought a 99 civic ex with a d16y8 and the valve cover doesnt say vtec on it either so that isnt always true, listen all you have to do to see if it is vtec or not is just look at the head and if you see an oil line on the back on the passenger side then it is a vtec
