I recently bought a brand new 2001 Camero RS. I just broke the 10000 mark. It's an automatic. My Rev Limiter seems to be keeping me from going as fast as I used to. Is there anyway to adjust the rev limited setting?
I'm not sure about the V6 Camaro's but for the V8's you can change your shift points and rev limiter with a HyperTech power programmer. But do note increasing your rev limiter does not equal more power. If you get your peak power at 5800 RPMS then there is no need and is actually slower to rev your engine up to 6500 RPMS.
well we've had this debate before. you make peak power at a certain RPM. while you are not accelerating after that point, you do want rev past that point because when you shift you will be at a higher RPM after the shift, which will place you higher in power band and you will accelerate faster...
lol, you live in the woods in MA (it's nice, ive got a lot of family up there and im there all the time but many ppl would consider that redneck too :P)
