250 showdownenzo@af 11-28-2000, 02:11 AM Which 250 model do you consider the best? The 250 GTO and TR had the same flat 12, but the 250 LM got a slight displacement increase, and a mid-engine. There are various other 250's as well (like the GT 2+2), but which do you think is the best? ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. enzo@af 11-28-2000, 06:18 PM 250 LM http://ferrari.dlnhost.net/250LM.htm mmmmmmm ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. Edited by: enzo@af Dimex 12-03-2000, 07:28 PM I'll take the Red head. http://www.ferrari.it/vetture/ieri.e/images/250tr58.jpg Only 800 kg! That's lighter than the GTO or the LM enzo@af 12-03-2000, 07:36 PM Lighter, true, but the Testa Rossa also only has drum brakes. The GTO (900 kg) and the almighty LM (only 820 kg with more power than the TR mind you) both have four wheel disk. ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. ultimatecarpage.com 02-13-2001, 09:34 AM Originally posted by enzo@af [B]Which 250 model do you consider the best? The engine used in the GTO, TR and LM were 60 degree V12 engines. The GTO is the most sought after Ferrari, and considered by many as the best !! http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/Ferrari/250gto.jpg http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/wallpaper/250gto-1024x768.jpg MBTN 02-13-2001, 01:37 PM Look at my sig! :) I also like the '57 250 GT Spyder. The cars they used to build, man OH MAN. :) ichthus 02-22-2001, 11:37 AM The LM is my favorite, but what I wouldn't give to make a couple design changes (I know that's blasphemy, but hey... :) ) I'd love to give it a new back end/engine cover...say a nice sweeping glass lid like on the 360 Modena? The front of the car is flawless, however. ichthus 02-22-2001, 11:45 AM speaking of which, do we have anyone really really good with photoshop that would like to give that a try? Chris 05-20-2001, 11:16 AM I want one of the race cars. A 250 SWB. It has 4 wheel discs (the long wheelbase models, the 'tour-de-france' cars, had drums), a beautiful V12, and were really, really nice. I will post some more on it later, aswell as the exact one I want.:D Chris 05-20-2001, 11:17 AM A really good car, you really can't go wrong! Chris 05-23-2001, 10:29 AM Here is the exact car I want: Ferrari 250 Comp./61 SWB, chassis number 2937GT (Mairesse's car in the 1961 Tour de France) kicker1_solo 12-11-2001, 05:29 PM I have a friend that has a 62 250 GTO, but it's a kit. I like it a lot though. :) dejoux 12-22-2001, 05:05 AM Im with Chris, I like the 250 SWB the most Ill take any of them if soemone wants to give me one though. What is any 250 worth as a cheap one? Chris 12-31-2001, 08:52 PM Probable $200000 at least. But NART Spyders cost well into the millions:eek: JE123 01-15-2002, 01:50 PM For some reason those links aren't working for me. I don't know which one to choose.:D josh0855 11-20-2002, 10:59 AM 250&288 :ylsuper: AMAZING absutuly perfect. johnyrengo 09-11-2003, 02:18 PM 250 gto for me, front engined V12, the curves and proportions, sexy sexy sexy. And enzo, I never realized you're from good old eugene, that is my neck of the woods. by the way, note the sig JD68 12-13-2003, 02:03 AM 1962 250 GTO chassis # 3507 Won the 1962 Lemans GT that is the ultimate 250 with the Tipo 163 C 4-litre engine. and easily attainable in the price range of 1 to 10 million dollars. gotta love the lines of the LWB. Great-King-Rat 10-31-2004, 01:05 AM I like the LM's but ive also got a thing for the 2+2. SamBlob 10-31-2004, 08:34 AM 250s are wonderful and I'd love to see or drive any one of them (I wouldn't even imagine the idea of owning one), but I'd like to know how a 250 compared to a 750 (the 3-litre four-cylinder Ferrari racing cars). I think the Testa Rossas came in both 250 and 750 form, with the 250s for fast tracks like Le Mans and Spa and the 750s for rugged, twisting tracks like Targa Florio.
