2 questions:

1) What's a safe way to remove my gauge needles?

2) I need to change the odometer on a gauge cluster that I bought with my old cluster's odom. How do I get to it? Removing the speedometer face or from the back of the cluster somehow?

Why do you need to remove the needles again? On hondas you usually can't remove the needles or you will mess up your gauges.

I did it on a 96-00 style if that's what you are talking about. Do not remove the needles. All you have to do is unscrew the four bolts that hold the whole speedometer and replace it with the new one. That's it. If you do anymore than that you've already messed up.

excellent. thanks for the info. yall saved me from screwing up. anybody know how to take off my mileage gauge though. I'm replacing the whole cluster and i want my miles on there.

WHen you unscrew the speedo the odometer is still attached. You replace both with one step.

I'm impressed with how easily you guys blew past getting the dash off. I have a 94 coupe, and I'm trying to repair one of the dash vents, but I can't get the dash off. I've undone the two screws holding the trim plastic to the dashboard (the ones just above the instrument cluster), but something seems to be holding it from behind (near the hazard button).

I must be missing something -- I've even taken off all the trim below the steering wheel, but I can't find anything else to loosen.

What I really need is a service manual or something that shows how to do ALL this stuff.

Yo need to pop out the hazard button. There's a screw in there you need to remove. Just wedge a screw driver on one side of the whole hazard button fixture and pry it ever so carefully up till it comes out. Then unplug the hazard and clock.

Thanks! That did it. I did run out and buy a Chiton's so I won't have to deal with that again.
