I've got an R32 but Im guessing they are similar.

In the boot, there is a metal cover on the right hand side, underneath it is another plate and underneath that is the fuel pump There is probably a leak in the lower plate. Thats where mine came from.

ER.. u sure that its petrol and not exhaust fumes? (just checking)

Pressure test? . no no. Its just a metal cover on top of the fuel tank.Fuel leaks out when its sloshing around in the tank. Just needs some sealant to seal it

tell me, does anyone know if it actually matters if it leaks around the fuel pump seal? I replaced my fuel pump and the seal streached so In cut it and put it back in. When I remove my fuel cap it dosn't make the "hiss" noise... but the car runs sweet and gas is normal for the car..
