I know that you must think not again, but which wire is it that you cut for the Limiter on the R32?, 55 or 53?. If the speedo reads 180kph do all skylines have limiters on them?.

I have an Auto box, Does this make a difference?. By flooring it what would be the signal that the car has a limiter. Sorry but i am new to this game.

when u hit the limiter the comp shuts the fuel pump down for a few seconds and u will feel the car surge and the engine cut off for a few seconds each time u hit the limiter!

If it has the limiter is it the wire 55 or 53 that needs to be cut? any idea?.

Wire 53

If you have never hit the speed limiter you don't need to cut it! I think the limiter pumps extra fuel in so it runs too rich, it coughs splutters and if you keep you foot in it it backfires with a huge cloud of black smoke.
The GTR use to hit the speed limiter in 3rd before it hit the rev limiter

i was going to say cutting the fuel pump under full load definately in my book would = lower fuel pressure = detonation... OUCH... :bloated:

You may still get a cut in 4th gear at over 200kph, I think changing to 5th will fix it.

I am not talking about the Speed Cut... they come in a 180.
I am talking about the AFM Ignition cut that you may get at over 7000RPM in 4th. In 5th it should be fine...

Yes the "speed" limiter is at 180kph. The other one happens for me at over 200kph, but it is different and to do with the AFM, I don't know how to fix that.?

On the R32 Skyline, wire #53 on the ECU is for vehile speed sensor, cutting that will get rid of the 180kph limit.

The grey GTS-4 is mine, I have sold the White GTS-T (that pic it has 18" AVS's on it.. off a GTR, WAY TOO BIG)

I hit the AFM cut at around 215kph, had alot! to go.

The chime is behind your speedo, a little box. But if you remove it you wont get a warning when you open you door and have the lights on.

what mods have you done to get that sort of performance?, Any mods you recommend, I only have a air induction kit, the rest is standard, What after market exhaust would you recommend, as theres so many. Blitz/ Kakimoto/HKS!!!!!!!!!.

Well 4WD helps, but I learnt to drive, that my best mod ;)

I have 3" from turbo, Pod filter and a brass button clutch.
14 psi.

Good for a 14.0 1/4.

My exaust is just a custom made one, seems to do the trick for $400, there is no way I am going to pay $2000 for an exaust...

I think he means by the time you hit over 200 in 4th you'll be hitting the rev limiter :)

Nope, HICAS is fine with it cut.

I think you get just over 200k in 4th at limiter... what I am saying is that because the engine is strained.. it gets another cut.. so put it in 5th to go over 200kph.

I am still running stock turbo, no sure on my HP. I am putting a larger turbo on next week though.

how bout gettin a remaped chip for you puter
i can get them exchange for $200
greatly improves off boost response for autos
runs australian fuel without pinging
180 klm limit is removed
and boost cut removed
maped for standard car with 3"exhaust bost is adjustable to 14psi

don't rate chips.

Limiter is removed for free.
Boost cut.. well dosn't exist.
I have a 3" exaust and 14psi.. and it runs magic!

Where is wire 53? Had my computer out today and can't find any markings as to what wire is what number. :confused:

Cheers TWUBLE. Done it. Couldn't test it properly though. Got 180 easy, but there was too much traffic. Try tomorrow when I go to work. BTW, is that screw on the ECU the idle adjustment. Think I knocked it and it's idling sloooowww. 'Bout 400rpm.
