Running wires through the xterra firewall.DudeMcGuy 07-07-2003, 01:10 AM I am considering installing a subwoofer and amplifier I recently acquired, but the main problem holding me back is running the power cable to the battery. I have searched for a hole in the firewall and located one on the on the passenger side right behind the top of the wheel well. However, I cannot find where it comes out inside the vehicle. I removed the glove box completely and looked up in that region but still could not find the outlet. I would appreciate information about where this firewall hole comes out or any other holes that are more suitable for installing an amplifier. Pictures of both side of the hole and gaining access would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Cabose 09-07-2003, 09:55 AM Man i did it but it isnt an easy task. The way i ddi it was throwing it a rubber piece that runs on the passenger side of the firewall that runs directly into the truck. I didnt have to cut holes or anything for it, but i am goign to tell you it will take you time and if you have two people doing it it would be a lot better. evergreen 09-07-2003, 03:29 PM there is an access hole on the drivers side firewall. its to the left of the clutch pedal just above (or maybe under) the carpet. there is a small retainer clip that needs to be removed to fold the carpet back. its much easier to spot it from the engine compartment. look down between the fender and the firewall and you'll see a bundle of wires entering the cab. rrdstarr 09-07-2003, 07:48 PM there is an access hole on the drivers side firewall. its to the left of the clutch pedal just above (or maybe under) the carpet. there is a small retainer clip that needs to be removed to fold the carpet back. its much easier to spot it from the engine compartment. look down between the fender and the firewall and you'll see a bundle of wires entering the cab. There is also one one the passenger side firewall. You have to reach up behind your HVAC equipment to find it come out. Just take a straightened coat hanger and shove it through this grommet. Tape on the wire you want to pull through and pull it through. Takes all of 5 minutes! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
