Auto tranny and b16??frozen_Joth 07-03-2003, 10:05 PM Can I get a B16 engine and still go auto tranny? If so what tranny would I need??? I would go to stick but I heard alot of bad things 'bout changing them over and I'll be just as happy with an auto. thanks. jcrx 07-04-2003, 02:43 PM The SiR/SiRII's were availible in an auto model, 148ps (about 150hp), you can also source an auto GSR tranny if you like. Your best bet for this is to check Ebay, or contact some of the online motor sellers. crxlvr 07-04-2003, 10:24 PM i have that setup, i got it from www.hmotorsonline.com from what i read the auto b16 is only 158HP compared to the manual 160 do to cam differences, but just swap the cams like i did and you'll be fine. frozen_Joth 07-05-2003, 03:06 AM thanks, I have saved this thread for future use, I'm getting my engine swapped in sept. and wanted a B16 but didn't think i could have an auto one, I'm sure I'll be much happier with a a B16 than a D16z6. Thanks again! crxlvr 07-05-2003, 10:09 AM well the auto B16 came from the Integra Xsi/Rsi in Japan, the auto wasnt available on th Civic/CRX SiR. but once im done installing mine, ill tell ya how it goes. jcrx 07-05-2003, 11:30 AM Originally posted by crxlvr well the auto B16 came from the Integra Xsi/Rsi in Japan, the auto wasnt available on th Civic/CRX SiR. The 92-98 Civic SiR and the 93 + delsols BOTH had auto options, and I was wrong about the hp, it is 155ps. And the teg RSi/XSi has 150ps. crxlvr 07-05-2003, 12:13 PM Originally posted by jcrx The 92-98 Civic SiR and the 93 + delsols BOTH had auto options, and I was wrong about the hp, it is 155ps. Correctamundo http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/ Everything you ever wanted to know about JDM cars. It's in Japanese though. mylittedaisy 07-05-2003, 02:09 PM Just pick up an integra tranny out of a near by junk yard. Ricochet 07-05-2003, 09:46 PM Why do you want an auto on a high(er) performance engine? frozen_Joth 07-05-2003, 09:50 PM I would switch it over to a manual but I have heard alot of bad things about doing that. I don't really give a damn if it's auto or manual, it will still be faster than what I got and fun. I have seen plenty of autos take manuals, and besides, I'm lazy:pimp: O.K.,so I can use an auto tranny off a del sol or something? crxlvr 07-05-2003, 10:19 PM yea, any b-series tranny will bolt right up. frozen_Joth 07-05-2003, 10:25 PM Is there a place online to order these parts? Thanks again. crxlvr 07-05-2003, 11:24 PM i got my auto b16 from www.hmotorsonline.com with no problems. I'd rather have a slow five speed than a .1 sec faster auto because I like to drive the car, not have the car drive me. jcrx 07-06-2003, 07:11 PM Damn, if the guy wants an auto, let him have an auto. frozen_Joth 07-06-2003, 07:27 PM yeah really, I have a crx with no engine and no front end, it's a manual, and its also a slow project. I can drive one but im just as happy with an auto. I press the gas and it goes. I agree that manuals are much more fun though  Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
