Question 99 Monte Keyless

Hello,

Quick question. I broke one of my keyless entry controls on my 99 Monte and I want to know how to reprogram it once I pick one up, or if I can for that matter.

Also has anyone ever heard of using a laptop and some type of wiring harness to tap into a automotive computer. I figure with the right equipment my $1000 laptop can probably do the same thing as a $250 engine code reader, probably more.

Thanks,

Quest

Keyless Entry 99 Monte Carlo

Open trunk.
Pull carpet from right side under antenna.
Find single wire connector.
(mine was taped to the harness under the antenna)
Place jumper on connector and other end to ground.
You'll hear the door locks click\click.
On the remotes:
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until you hear the door locks click\click.
Put down the remote and pick up the next remote and hold down the lock\unlock buttons until you hear the door locks click\click again.
You're done.

Now pull the jumper off the connector and put the carpet back.
