first look at the fujimi kit. the body is wearing 3 coats of gunze super black with two thin coats of silver for the stripes. two coats of clear were applied before polished. one of my better paint jobs if i do say so myself:icon16:

nice cobra, can you tell me how the engine detail is? I might put one of these engines into my GT40. I love the colour combo too! :tongue:

the engine is simplified but does come with two manifolds, one for velocity stacks (included) and another for carbs. there's also an option for single or dual carb configurations. its a good start for additonal detailing in.

There's a guy in the states selling a beautiful engine package for the GT40's.

The Fujimi engine is way over-simplified. Embarrasingly so. Search around for the Revell/Monogram version, much better engine. Much better kit, too.:wink: And about 1/4 to 1/2 the cost of the Fujimi kit judging by Ebay sales...

The Fujimi kit will look quite decent when finished, it's just a shame they did a model that can't compete with a much older, much cheaper Monogram kit.

beautiful paint man. yah i have to ask as well.. what tape did you use?

tamiya tape. the trick is just to make sure to spray in light coats and just enough for coverage. clear over it and then polish. silver is one of those colors that doesn't need very many coats to get good coverage. i guess i lucked out. if it was blue with white stripes, then i might be in trouble.

started work on the engine today. i think i have enough ref pics for me to at least do some of the distributor wiring. saw one pic with blue and red plug wires... looks very patriotic so i decided that i'd do the same for this model of american muscle:biggrin: here's a pic of the work so far.
