I was wondering if ya guys had any advice. I just got a 1991 LX 5.0 5spd at the auction runs really good all stock. I was wondering what types of bodykits I could get to make it have the GT look. I saw a West Wing kit but I would like to know if theres more. I have about 2k to spend on the body.

Like would I need to replace bumper for real GT look or the hatch to get the GT spoiler look.

Thanks for any info all!

Also any newbie easy mods for the car would be nice as well!

You could also do a Cobra Conversion

all you need is the front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts, and you can make it look like a GT.

I did the GT ground effects convirsion myself after i converted this car from a 4cyl to 302.

Works great for a vert, but the LX has about 1/2 dozen more holes in the hatch than the GT, which will all require filling. You must also drill new holes to mount the GT wing as well. It's a serious PITA, and I just recommend getting a GT Hatch/Spoiler to avoid the task.

You would also need the nose, bumper reinforcement, side skirts, valance, side scoops (in front of rear wheels), hatch/spoiler.

It's an annoying conversion, and even with all those parts, the GT ground effects still won't have the proper mounting rails that they are built to hang on.

I would just go with an aftermarket kit.

The door molding are different from an LX to a GT too. It can be done, and I feel its pretty easy with all the right parts. If you take your time, you should be able to get everything to line up pretty well. But if you just slap it together, then lines won't match up. It would be wise to get a donor car for the swap of buy a complete kit. Check out Cervini's, I love the stalker front end and Cobra kit. Cervini's (http://www.cervinis.com)
