really impressive!
I ll be following this thread closely, as I really want to see how you takle the scratschbuilding thing!
Good luck, I think you'll need it... not that you're not a godd modeler, au contraire, just that it's such a titanic project you're getting into!
oh, have you used Hase's tritool for opening thingies?
Ciao

This is gonna take you a century!
Scratch building an engine!
YOur not even gonna use parts from other kits?!
Well, after seing you detail your green R32's engine I still believe a little that you might be able to pull this off. :bloated:

its quite hard to scratch build a engine...but sometimes people use engines from other kits.....and to make bodykits people use bondo or tamiya putty....along with styrine sheets.

Are there really that many differences between the USDM Eclipse 4G3U and the JDM Evo engine that you couldn't even start with the AMT kit block?
You're a braver man than I, crismag. Keep at it!

Isn't the eclipse FWD and evos are AWD.
I'm guessing the engine might be different.
Not sure.

Eclipses are also AWD, but even so it would differences in the transaxles, not the engine block.
But if he needs to scratchbuild an engine, there must be something major.

same engine, but mounted differently. the engine of the EVO is mounted on the right portion of it's engine bay, the eclipse has it on the left.

yes, cotton sewing thread :) use it to like a saw to cut out pieces from the model. do not use it forcefully... let the heat caused by friction do the cutting. so i advice you to have someone or something hold the model firmly while you saw it up to do it easier :bigthumb:

hi guys! well heres what ive done so far.....
already done the difficult part. the engine b;ock is now complete :) yes! and im quite happy with the outcome of what ive done :bigthumb: everything was done using styrene sheets, putty and card paper :) the headers was from my spare box whis is originally from my dismantled F1 2000 :) i just removed one header coz it was originally 5 :) now with the difficult par done, everything else will fall into place faster :) your comments are highly appreciated.
