My Rodeo was broken into and the radio was torn from its mounts breaking several wires. It will not start now. It acts as if it is not geting gas. It starts right up with starting fluid, but will not stay running. The gas gage indicates a full fuel tank. The starter relay and fuse check out ok. It acts like the fuel pump is not working. Could the problem be related to the jerking of wires under the dash during the burglary? A quick follow up....
I checked everything under the hood...Relays, fuses, wiring connections to no avail. I then decided to address the non working interior dome lights.(also not working since the burglary) Note* resetting the computer did not work.) I moved to the interior fuse panel and noticed a label for the fuel pump listed on the cover. No fuse socket was present in the assigned position. I then checked the dome light fuse which is assigned next to the non existent fuel pump fuse. It was burnt out. I replaced it, and the dome lights began to function normally. I then tried to start the engine one more time, and it started normally. The only change I made was replacing the fuse for the dome lights. Anyone got a reason for this?

RCP, the only thing I can think of, is maybe the dome light is tied into the factory security system & with that fuse out, the security system keeps the vehicle start circuit from pulling in properly. I know atleast on 1998+ The door pin switch will trigger the factory alarm, if the key is not in the ignition. Dunno, just a guess w/out a wiring schematic. Sorry to hear about the theft/damage. Hope you have everything straigtened out.
