fwd vs rwd and awd drftersDrfthis 06-18-2003, 12:36 PM To my understanding, We as n drifters don't want drifting to get as bad as street racing in the sense on all the BS thats goes with it, Right. For all I care if your going to use a fwd car then do so. If the Fwd drifters can prove there skills as drifters then good. If they can't prove there skills or keep up with the Rwd and Awd then too stinken bad cuz thats there problem. Flaring between drifters is bad. Drifting is having a good time, not power trippen. :bigthumb: ok Im done. BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 01:55 PM doesn't the majority of AWD preform grip driving?? or unless they have the dial where u can swith the power ratio b/t the front and rear wheels i guess SR20DETpower 06-18-2003, 02:14 PM you can drift awd cars, not quite like a RWD, not as gay as a FWD... driftin_SX 06-18-2003, 02:21 PM Originally posted by BLU CIVIC doesn't the majority of AWD preform grip driving?? or unless they have the dial where u can swith the power ratio b/t the front and rear wheels i guess yeah VCDs(i thinks thats what there called) help..since u can set it at like a 10/90 or 15/85 power ratio BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 02:21 PM Originally posted by SR20DETpower you can drift awd cars, not quite like a RWD, not as gay as a FWD... just could leave that last part out could u:rolleyes: 2strokebloke 06-18-2003, 02:37 PM I have no problem - as far as I'm concered you can drift just about anything with wheels on it (of course in the most literal sense of the word - this is obviously limited to paddle-steamers.) Just refrain from acting like a nerd and making comments like "AWD cant drift" or "RWD is gay" or "FWD drifting is lame" and everything will be fine. SR20DETpower 06-18-2003, 04:42 PM BLU Civic you would be better off fixing up that durango and using that to drift instead of your civic....... BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 04:50 PM unfortunatly itz the wife's...wouldn't even let me put flowmasters on it...she likes it stock  sellin my hatch and gettin this beauty...already test drove it doin 110mhp on the highway, with the sales guy in the car...good times:bigthumb: SR20DETpower 06-18-2003, 04:51 PM cool those are pretty nice....... they drift Altezza's a lot... hehe ghostchild316 06-18-2003, 04:52 PM MUCH better than the civic. You could drop in a 2jz-gte engine and drift fer real:devil: BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 04:54 PM once again the wife spoke up:redface: no modding the car until the warrenty and extended warrenty expires....which will be in 4-5 years:frown: SR20DETpower 06-18-2003, 07:35 PM tell the wife, since you can't touch "her" car then that is HER car. And the Lexus is YOUR car, to do what YOU want to for YOUR car.... man you gotta lay the law down on something, a man's car is sacred. :iceslolan :bigthumb: RyanGiorgio 06-18-2003, 07:54 PM Damn blu, that IS is awesome. I bet you'll have some fun with that as soon as your wife gets up of your ass about the modding . What was this thread about again? BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 09:22 PM well i'm only 23 and since she makes almost twice as much as me....and will be helping me get this car....then she has some say in it.... but one thing that annoyed me was i couldn't hear the engine...it was so annoying b/c i usually listen to the engine to know when to shift...but oh well what was this thread about  ghostchild316 06-18-2003, 09:24 PM Gut the cat and the resonator when shes not around:devil: endlesskev86 06-18-2003, 09:38 PM lucky you blu.........u panda drifter...hahaha have fun with it!~ one of my fav cars!~ BLU CIVIC 06-18-2003, 11:22 PM Originally posted by ghostchild316 Gut the cat and the resonator when shes not around:devil: u mean cats....the I6 has 2 separate headers with each one having a cat....itz kinda odd....friend who's a mechanic says it might have 4:confused: ....so straigt fron the engine 2 separate pipes coming into one exhaust..... mmcc 06-19-2003, 07:17 AM AWD can drift with 50/50 split. They just need alot of power to get all four wheels spinnning. It's be done. Jun EVO 5. Suislide 06-19-2003, 01:59 PM Originally posted by mmcc AWD can drift with 50/50 split. WhiteBlur 06-19-2003, 08:02 PM Hey Blu, finally you're gettin rid of that heep hehe no offense though because you're trading it in for such a nicer car then that! Hope that you can get lots of mods done to it so we can see it soon! But you're wife seems to be in the way....dunno what to do with that hehe how bout secretly add mods to it and then drive it and see what she says! omicron 06-20-2003, 09:30 AM See what see says? Don't you mean hope she never finds out? I would hate to be pushed away from upgrading my car. But then again if she has a BIG help in getting you the car then you should respect that. :frown: Race it with mods that don't void the warranty.... hmm.. like.. A decal.. on the windshield... AirAllen01 06-20-2003, 09:35 AM You could ask the dealer about: Cat-back exhaust Performance chip Intake I don't think these void warranty, but don't quote me on that. D Money1644 06-23-2003, 03:51 PM you could always modify it with things to make it more efficient. like exhaust, intake, lightweight pulleys, electrical rad. fan(s), spark plugs and wires, etc. she can't rightly complain about things like that since it'll get better gas mileage, right? BLU CIVIC 06-23-2003, 04:01 PM i doubt she would care if i did that..... would love to get into drifting with that car...but i highly doubt it b/c i will literally cry if i wrecked it:crying: but i might follow friends advise and get an older rx-7 as a weekend beater and leave the IS for cruisin:sunglasse R.W.240 06-23-2003, 09:04 PM Lexus does the sportline "preformance" stuff that doesnt void warranty wont get much power but it will sound better. Layla's Keeper 06-23-2003, 11:06 PM That's right. Lexus and TRD are taking the BMW Mpower/Mercedes-Benz AMG approach with factory parts. She can't argue with parts that are covered by factory warrantee, now can she. Or just live by the old rodders mantra. Drive hard, hide deep. Chlatboy 06-25-2003, 03:21 AM um........how about starting to do mods with the internals! HOpefully she does not kno a thing about cars and u can say they are all stock! Mite work! If not, i think you should make her decide on which car should not be modded! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
