Hole in molding

I was riding on a grated road and when it came back on to the pavement I heard a clunk and some noise by my tire. When I checked it out later, it was the molding from the fenderwell that fell and hung down from the front. my tire seemed to rub a hole right into it. Its my fault for not putting back the clips on the front, its just such a pain when you want to clean your filter! Which brings me to my question. its right by my CAI, so im scared some water is going to get in. At the same time, it feels like im getting more power. Should I patch it up, get new molding, or leave it?

Just dont drive in water higher than the CAI inlet.

I think you need a fender liner, not a molding. Yes you should replace it & all of the clips. Taking off the front bumber is easier than messing with the fender liner if you dont have new clips each time you pull them out.

I just did the same thing 2 weeks ago. I just put in new hyper white front signals and I had taken half of my inner fender off to get in there. Well needless to say I forgot one bolt and the front part fell on my wheel and it burnt right threw it. I was so afraid that water was going to get sucked up into my CAI that I went and bought a new OEM inner fender lol. It cost me like $180 CAN. I was so pissed! I'm not really sure what you can use to patch it up with, well with out having it look like junk. Now if it were a hole in the body of your car I could help you with that. I think your best bet is to either buy a brand new one or find a junk yard and get one for like $20 there :bigthumb: I hope you do better then me!

I had the same thing happen to me after my car got out of a body shop. The shop didn't put it back in right, and my wheel burnt a hole right through it, depsite my best efforts to keep this from occuring. I just went to Auto Adventure, and bought a used peice (in good conditon too I might add) for $20, jacked the car up, put it in, put in the clips. The new one is in there more solid than the old one ever was, best $20 I spent. Auto Adeventure is in Portland, OR, but has nationwide shipping availble. They deal exculsilywith Honda and Acura parts. If you can't find a junk yard with one, call them, 1-800-351-0084 or 503-238-6218. Talk to Patrick. He's helped me out many times, and I've saved tons of $$ over buying there instead of new stuff from a dealer.
