I have a 2002 dodge neon sxt and was wondering if 18x8 wheels would fit on it. and what is the max tire size can i fit.

Can i use wheel spacers with longer bolts to get a bigger tire size like 18x8 with 235/35/18 tires?

We've never test fit an 18" wheel on your car. The biggest tire we've test fit is a 205/40-17 with an overall diameter of 23.5 inches, section width of 8.5 inches and tread width of 7.5 inches.

The 235/35-18 size you want to run has a diameter of 24.5 inches, section width of 9.3 inches so may get rubbing to the either the inside or the outside, you would have to check and measure.

If the clearance problem is on the inside than spacers will help there but then you may have fender clearance problems.

The only reason I ask is because the saying is, the wider the better, know what I mean? All exotic cars and race cars have incredibly big tires, and that leads to crazy traction (really good traction).

Would you know why they have'nt made adjustable shocks/struts for a 2002 neon yet im trying to get race car height and race car traction?

but all i have is coilovers that are killing the stock suspension, and the ride is horrible.

Oh and I still dont understand offset measurements, I know that its the measurement of the front bolt to the middle, ive seen diagrams but i still cant get a picture of my 2002 neon. I dont know if a offset of 40 will fit or if spacers will make certain offsets fit or work without rubbing

A wider contact patch is better generally but heavier wheels and tires are bad for acceleration, braking and the "nimbleness" of the car.

It sounds like the biggest problem with your current set-up is lack of proper dampers to match up with stiffer springs.

Dampers? Where could I get some for a 2k2 neon, and will it be adjustable?

By dampers I mean struts or shocks. If you're not running performance struts, your struts won't be able to control the higher spring rate and your ride will be terrible.

We don't have any for you but I would check the following because we have heard some good about them:

Chrysler/Dodge Performance Struts - check with your dealer
