I have problem with shiftlock solenoid. First time it happened
couple months ago I could not shift out of park. After that I still sometimes can not shift out of park and then sometimes when it is
in D4 position or in D3 It will not move. So I replaced the transmission,
but the problems still exist. Sometimes I can not shift out park
and in D3 or D4 it will not move forward even I do not put on brake.
And also sometimes shiftlock solenoid keeps ckicking.
Can you tell what it is wrong. Please email me at Gallantbui@hotmail.com. I have honda accord 98 , 2door, 4 cylinder.

Thanks

Gallant

i had that problem before, i couldnt shift out of park. i adjusted the throttle cable a little bit and it was fine, u can just adjust the tranny cable so it can be a little tighter.

ur car is supposed to shift from d3 to d4 no matter what. the onyl gear u have to apply the brake is park...it can also be related to the connector on the shift lock silinoid thing. it may be old or loose...

try and rev the car and shift it out of park, i pulled back on my gas pedal but thats cause i can make the engine rpm go a little lower, and then its able to shift...

i found that the rpm was a little high so the car woulndt shift, thats why i adjusted it. all good now for 2 years.
