I'm having trouble getting my trailer brakes hooked up - for one thing the instructions in my manual are not very clear about where to put the wiring harness that came with the vehicle (it does have the HD trailering pkg.) It also came with a 40 amp fuse but again no clear instructions on where to put it. Any clear help would be very much appreciated!!
(Just so you don't think I'm "totally" ignorant, I've put in brake controllers on 5 or more trucks in the past without a problem... but I'm feeling pretty ignorant right now with this vehicle)

I'm going to answer my own question for those who might need this info in the future: I found that I did insert the trailer brake wiring harness to the correct slot (second from the left, top row) in the panel just to the left of the brake pedal under the dash. I followed instructions correctly to hook up my Tekonsha brake controller to the four lead wires. What I found is that I did not have power when I tested the connections so I knew the next thing to check was fuses under the hood. Indeed this ended up being the missing link. The tahoe instructions on which fuse is the trailer brake fuse is difficult at best to decifer, but standing on the driver side by the fuse box, the correct fuse is the farthest right fuse (in the row of large fuses- I hope I made this clear) and the fuse that was in there (30 amp) was blown for reasons unknown. I replaced it with the 40 amp fuse that came with the trailer wiring harness, and it appears all is working very well now! (I'll have to watch closely this fuse to make sure that it doesn't blow again.) Just fyi.
