M635CSi Electronic problemspowertec24 11-10-2001, 11:27 AM Hello there!! Does someone know anything about the BMW Bosch Motronic? I've got no ignition signal and no injection signal. It would be really nice if someone could help me.....! greetings Honda Killer 12-15-2001, 07:09 PM :grey: There are so many different factors which could cause this: 1. No start signal, means no injection signal, so if you have a faulty starter, your injectors and fuel pumps won't pump. *check the starter relays, and there are two wires on your starter with appx 14 guage wire. One goes on the top of the starter, and the other on the bottom, they are signal wires, and if they get disconnected or grounded, your car won't start. 2. You might have a faulty ignition switch, this would cause loss of some or all signals, because there would not be the correct electral current. You can only inspect it by removing it, if it is bad, you will see the burnt electral, or the peice that connects the wires to the inside of the switch will be loose, make sure to remove the very small screw that holds the switch in place. 3. A bad connection on a fuse, remove fuses related to engine controls, and sand the connections, replace the fuse. 4. A bad ground, they are located in different spots, check the firewall, the body frame, on the bar that holds the brake and clutch pedals. 5. An electircal short inside the computer, or on the wires leading to the computer, if you can get a voltimeter, and a wiring diagram, you can test the voltage and resistance for the computer terminals, 6. A bad fuse box, remover the three screws that hold it in place, not the hex nut, and inspect the circut board for burn spots. powertec24 12-16-2001, 07:29 AM Thanks for answering!! I solved the problem with checking the ground connection points. There are two main connectors, and one was a little bit covered by the new pinture I put into the engine-room a few weeks ago. I cleaned it and the engine ran promptly! Thanks!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
