Mate ppl have been fitting sucide doors to cars long before the idea of a "minitruck" let alone the name ever came along.



And under your mental American idea of "import" vs "domestic" I believe that the cavalier cames under the catagory of "domestic" as it was designed and built by Chevy.

Alright, first off, Suicde Doors were on Hot Rods long before "minitrucks" or "imports." Those have been on Hot Rods and other old-school cars long before minitrucks or imports were made. Secondly, the comapny that was spoken of that makes a suicde door kit is autoloc. It's a Universal Suide Door hinge, they company is based like 10 miles from my house, in Tigard, Oregon (The Hoffman Group). It's a brown byuilding next to car stereo city. I've seen the suicide door kit, as well as lots of there products as a result. They also make a universal "Lambo Door" kit.

Decah Also makes "Lambo Doors," alhough they call them Vertical Doors ("VDC", Vertical Door Conversion).

For Vertical Doors, I like the lool of Decah's a lot better. I like the design better, and the way the look when open better. But Autoloc is the aformentioned maker of the Suicide Door Kit. It's a Universal hinge that needs to be cut, welded, etc to fit the car when installed.

Great links man. the autoloc suicide doors, will those work for the back to doors of a four door car? I think I like the look of having the front doors open regular and the back open suicide style. And who knows, after that maybe I can get the vertical for the front two doors.

I don't know anything about the reliability of the Ford trucks but the Mustang seems to be working fine.....Haven't had a problem yet.

the cobra seats (new ones) are compfy as hell i slept in one at the ford dealership waiting for the damn dealership to do the paperwork for my truck

nope they had the mach1 locked
but the cobra was in the showroom and it had the top down so i just hopped in and fell asleep

Yea, the autoloc suicide doors will work for the back 2 doors. I have a 4 door too, so that's why I looked at em. You'll definatly need those, or autoloc's lambo door kit, professionally installed at a good custom body shop though. You might be able to do the lambo doors yourself if you know what you are doing. The Decah VDC is easy to do. That you can do yourself. But yea, your suicide door idea for your 4-door will work fine.

Suicide Doors? They can run like 4 grand to do. The Decah VDC kit is bolt on for the most part. If they have one for your car, it'll take about 2 hours to put on, they say you can do it yourself. Suicide doors and the Autoloc unviersal Lambo door kit cost more to install, the suicides will cost the most, due to the fact even with autoloc's universal hinges, it will require the most modification (usaully). Hope this helps a bit.
