Anyone heard of the 2003 replacement for the Trooper? It'll be produced in Ohio next to the Chevrolet Trailblazer and the GMC Envoy, it'll ride on a lengthened version of their chassis, and it'll be renamed Ascender. Expect to see it at dealerships next September...and at car shows starting in January.

Isn´t the Axiom the replacement for the Trooper? I mean by size they´re similar.

The Axiom is considerably smaller than the Trooper, but both do have Isuzu's trademark body-on-ladder frame and 10/120,000 warranty. The only major mechanical similarity is the engine (3.5L, 24valve V6) with revised intake manifold and ECU specs. Trooper = 215 hp / Axiom = 230. Torque figures escape me. The Transmission may, in fact, be the same GM derivative. Not sure about that.:smoker:

The Isuzu Trooper is sold in diverse markets as a Chevrolet, Opel, and Holden. Anyways is an SUV that its boxy and atractive design has lasted many years, I hope it will be replaced by a new one and the great Axiom be left as an other vehicle. We historically asociate SUVs with the Jeep brand, I think it should be the same with Isuzu, even if it´s not such an historically brand. :)
