Something Wrong Here?Mortalis 06-01-2003, 12:17 AM Just wondering.. I saw an ad for a 1993 Nissan 300ZX, twin turbo, 47k miles, 5 spd, black with tan interior, AC, factory cd/bose, stainless exhaust, Performance Upgrades, $10,800, CANTON 330-493-1823 Think something may be wrong here? I might go check it out..thought these things went for like 14-15k...and especially with this low mileage..I'll give the guy a call..but does this raise any flags for anyone here or should I go for it? Amish_kid 06-01-2003, 12:20 AM Seems a little too good to be true, but that doesn't mean ya can't check it out. mynismo 06-01-2003, 12:29 AM canton ohio? i might check it out ;) LjasonL 06-01-2003, 03:19 AM Sounds about right to me, but maybe they're just cheaper in Arkansas? Layla's Keeper 06-01-2003, 12:06 PM Actually, that's right about where early TT 300ZX's have depreciated to. The Z car is still a steal because it's sitting on the sidelines while the Supra grabs attention in "The Riced and the Whiny". RX-7's are more expensive simply for the fact that they're RX-7's. They generally have dealer or specialist maintenance bills that read like the national debt. 3000GT's and their Stealth brethren are more expensive because non-poser examples are hard to come by. Meanwhile, the Z32 has just maintained its steadfast following of Z-heads and kept a low profile. You don't see Z cars running around with absurd paintjobs and overweight stereos because they aren't "in". Instead, you see a number of enthusiasts who love the car and its rich history and try to maintain the quiet dignity that comes with owning a car of its caliber. It's a car to be loved, and one that Z owners like to share, and inexpensive performance has always been part of the Z mantra. Take a look at it, you'll almost definitely love it. SR20DETpower 06-01-2003, 01:37 PM that is so true, I don't know any other cars that have a following of enthusiasts like the Z car...... maybe a corvette but thats a lil different circumstances etc. Most people who own Z's take care of them like no other car. V8Terror 06-01-2003, 11:33 PM If I was going to buy a decade old car... It'd be a 93 Rx-7... hands down... And for 10k You can get a damn decent one. I had a 94 for 11k I was going to buy b4 I got the 03 Cobra. flylwsi 06-02-2003, 08:30 PM that's not entirely true. the rx7, even in good condition, is known to have been overheated, or suffer from heat damage no matter who owns it. i'd rather have the 300zx. not far from me either, maybe i'll go look at it... Mortalis 06-02-2003, 08:32 PM *snaps fingers* Shouldnt have posted the location, heh, one of you will prolly get to it first:flipa: Cbass 06-02-2003, 10:17 PM I know a guy who just bought a '90 for $8,500 CDN, but it needs the turbos rebuilt, and has a steering fluid leak... it's also got a ricey veilside knockoff kit... The engine is a stock reman from Stillen though :) The 300ZX is a great high speed touring car, but it has problems launching, because of it's rear suspension setup... fearless_simian 06-06-2003, 05:47 PM about that z. If the guy says it has performance upgrades I would be very wary. It probably means he dorve the thing hard and that the wear on it is not going to be standard. My advice is if you are going to play with a car grab it from some nice person who understands and babies their cars. Also make sure that they did the upgrades well.
