Question E34 Cup Holders

Can anyone recommend a decent cup holder (95 525i Auto)- The BMW one is $100 Canadian. Is it worth it?

Thumbs up E34 Cup Holders (A MUST SEE IF YOU THINK ORIGINALS SUCK)

I just installed the ultimatecupholder, available at the ultimatecupholder.com. The ones BMW have really suck!! I've broken both the front and rear cup holders within 6 months of owning it. I did some research on cup holders and was impressed with the Tech one. You know the one that istalls and take up your coin holder under the arm rest. The $100 price tag turned me off in a heart beat. I also considered the original BMW cup holder that installs on the doors, but the first picture that came to mind was SPLASH!!! Then I found this one. I've been using it for a bout 2 weeks and so far I'm satisfied. It sits right next to my right calf and sits very snug. It take some getting used to but I was tired of shifting and trying to hold onto the cup. It was especially a pain in the mornings. I just have to have my cup of coffee on my way to work. Turning and taking off in a hurry with the standard cup holder never worked. The one I installed works well. I don't have to worry about anything. I got the one for my side just to test it out. If my wife wants one for her side I'll get her one too, but untill she asks for it I won't order it. But since my original items are broken I'm looking where to find "used" original cup hoders, for asthetic purposes, that's how I found this site. I thought I might add my 2 cents and spread the word to othe beemer owners. For the money we spent on our cars you would think that something as simple as the cup holders would be as reliable as the rest of the car, but I guess not. Anyway good luck with your search as I'm on one too.

Jake

Smile Cupholders

Thanks

The web site is great - They are in the process of making one for the E-34 and the E-28 which I also have (1984-533i).
